FAQ's
I have repaired my pressure equipment, do I need a new design registration?
Refer section 6 of AS3788‐2006; every activity listed apart from minor repairs require assessment by a competent person to determine whether a new design registration is required.
What are the inspection requirements for new or altered pressure equipment?
All new or altered pressure equipment must undergo a commissioning inspection, refer Table 4.1 of AS3788-2006. Routine inspections should also be carried out at regular intervals not exceeding Table 4.1 of AS3788 .
Which new pressure vessel require design registration?
Pressure equipment, other than pressure piping, and categorised as hazard level A, B, C or D according to the criteria in section 2.1 of AS 4343: 2005 (Pressure equipment—hazard levels).
How is the Hazard level determined?
Hazard levels are determined using AS4343-2005. Refer table 1. For the determining of the fluid category (i.e. Harmful or Non-Harmful), please refer to NOHSC:1008(2004) or the MSDS.
